This judge is swayed towards ruling against women in family law. Seems to make a decision, and realizes he made a mistake as well....but instead of correcting it, he makes excuses. I would highly suggest a higher power look into his rulings. Im shocked he has the position he does.

Professional and courteous. Seems to want the courtroom to run smoothly inspite of attorneys who continually wine and cry about their clients. Very patient.

A horable judge, hopefully the people of Kern county will wake up and get rid of the trash.

why is this Judge allowed to stay on the bench and Judge other people? he is very sexist, and he has lied to the Judicial Committee three times, before he confessed in having an affair with an Employee.. Think about the employees who had to see and be around this affair, while he lied to every one, Why is Kern county allowing this Person to stay on the Bench, He lied once, twice and three times, what makes you think he wont lie again on something bigger then having a year long affair or more

One of the best Judge's in Kern County as far as I'm concerned. Has a level head and makes informed decisions and rulings. Judge Woodward uses common sense and can see through BS, especially when it comes to family law and civil matters. Kern County needs more Judges like this.

I have witnessed him lose his temper due to a misunderstanding of the verbage he used himself. Very indecisive and seems to be easily swayed by attorneys. In my opinion, he makes assumptions to decisions made by opposite sex

Judge Woodward is an excellent Judge. He listens to both parties and gives them a chance to be herd. I believe his rulings are based on the evidence that is presented before him. I do not always agree with his rulings however I do respect his decisions. As far as temperament goes Judge Woodward is one of the most patient Judges in Kern County. In my opinion there need to be more Judges who treat people with the kindness and respect that he does.

This judge is well known in Kern County for favoring men in cases regarding family law. Not sure if its purposeful, but countless cases I have heard of matches this statement. Being a man, I have benefited. In all honesty he loses his temper easily if he doesn't understand, displays insecure decision making, and doesn't know how to communicate well. It is definitely the least professional atmosphere I have witnessed in a courtroom as well, of which is in the judges control. I wouldn't want his job, I can imagine its tough, but he seems to need guidance.

Sat on a jury that this Judge presided over the case. He was very pleasant and made all of us feel comfortable. Thought he did a good job overall and did not intimidate people.

This Judge is professional and treats people in his courtroom with respect and kindness. I did read about him publicly but I base my opinion on what I observed of him in the courtroom and also on his reputation from others. It appears that he made a poor judgement in his personal life and has repented of his "sin". I would much rather have a Judge who has made mistakes and is human sit on a case I or my family is involved in than one who views himself as perfect. People who live in glass houses should not be quick to throw stones! And I think we all live in glass houses!!!!

I was very nervous about being on the jury duty. This Judge made the experience pleasant. He was not intimidating or demeaning to the lawyers, witnesses, or jury members. I have been on other juries where the Judge was so mean it made me not ever want to do jury duty again. Hope he continues to be on the bench.

Very poor quality judge. His "friendliness" and "personal life" is not a factor in making this assessment. Although it should be a factor as his lack of morals in his personal life shows through as he makes rulings. Its his uneducated decision making, his history of rulings, his manner in treating people poorly without counsel, his temperament, and countless other poor factors that are witnessed by many (obviously by previous comments). I have worked with many other great judges in other areas of the county, he doesn't come close. We dont need a "nice" judge.. ....we need a respectable judge that makes educated decisions for everyone......not just because he might "run into them later in his hometown" he states.

Excellent Judge. Very prepared. Friendly and respectful to all even those without counsel. Disagree with the above comment. Obviously this person did not read the positive comments that were listed previously! I highly doubt this Judge makes decisions based solely on whether or not he will run into someone in his home town.

I've known Judge Woodward for approximately 15 years and have appeared before him many times. In my opinion he is one of the best Judges in Kern County. He is patient and respectful to all. He does not make pre-judgements, but listens to both sides and makes his decisions according to the facts presented.

This judge seems very indecisive. I cant believe he has been on the bench for 15 years...he appears novice in my opinion.

This judge needs training. Not very knowledgeable and seems to look toward the attorneys for help.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me where judge Errea went? And why? I'm panicking as I've now a five year long divorce case that he's presided over primarily (Judge Dulcich stepped in a time or two) and found out recently he's no longer in Shafter, neither are the family law clerks Anita and Olga! I'm filling motion for contempt and he's already privy to all prior actions of my ex except now which I know wouldn't make him happy in the least. I've already, pro per, had the default against me set aside from 2011 in 2013 and he knows my case back to front! I'm back pro per, ex non compliant worse yet failed mandatory disclosures and I'm worried!! Thank you

From the time I spent there from arraignment to sentencing he was kind and listened to all information.
